We're Back!

We’re back!  Astral Life Sanctuary chose to take a step back and move silently for a short period of time. In that time period, we are excited to announce that we have found our forever home, and the official starting location of our Sanctuary’s goal and purpose. The purpose of our sanctuary is to help all living things evolve and thrive alongside mankind. The question is, “well how do you do that within the type of society we live in today?” We would like to say it is a valid question for the average individual to ask. We live in a world and society where we rely on certain aspects and corporations to not only sustain us, but to also respect the environment as well. It’s impossible. That is why Astral Life Sanctuary is teaching people through our website and blogs what it means to live environmentally conscious, and what does that even mean? Living environmentally conscious is living in a way that positively affects the world around you, verses the opposite. The easiest way to start this sort of life is to literally buy some property in the country and start a homestead. If you cannot do that, small spaces can still give you the opportunity to be self sufficient and sustainable in some ways, while giving back to the environment at the same time. Even your apartment balcony can be a small self sufficient oasis that also gives back to the environment.

Astral Life Sanctuary’s current project focus is our permaculture homestead set up, with emphasis on pollinator patches throughout our property. Offerings for the bees. Astral Life Sanctuary’s CEO and founder received his pollinator steward certificate last year, and it has since been part of the sanctuary’s mission to ensure that native pollinators have not a habitat to live in, but a habitat to thrive in. Pollinators, such as wild bumble bees and carpenter bees, are great pollinators for not only crops, but for all the plants we need to survive. Without them our world would slowly cease to exist, and with insecticides and lack of habitat, they are slowly disappearing.   Monarch butterflies are also another species experiences a decline due to habitat loss. We as human beings are meant to be the watchers of this planet, and we cannot simply allow species to die off due to our inconsideration or simply lack of awareness. The easiest way someone can give back is simply by starting a small pollinator patch. You do not need a lot of space to do this. Simply dedicate an area in your yard or add to your garden. Plating beautiful flowers such as painted daisy’s, will attract many pollinators to your garden or home. They are beautiful to watch, and actually utterly charming little creatures. Milk weed is toxic to livestock, but can be planted in areas where they are not located. We are planting more milk weed and other flowers bushes in this center area of our driveway. Small spaces can make a big impact.

We have also started our small vegetable garden, until we begin our bigger projects in the spring. Gardening for oneself is the most environmentally conscious thing anyone can do. Growing your own food is much more rewarding and healthy than buying from the major corporations. We find more and more evil out about the large food corporations every day. Astral Life Sanctuary chooses not to speak on such topics in full detail. However, we do emphasis this so that people can understand that learning to grow your own food is one of the most imperative things you can do for your soul and environment. Growing your own is a step in the biggest and best change we can do for our earth and the environment. Which is why it is so interesting that some countries push to get rid of the environmentally conscious farmer, and allow the corporate conglomerate farmer to continue to do so in a way that is not only bad for the environment, but cruel to the animal as well. Anytime you raise your own food, you put the morality back into it. Because even if something is being raised to be eaten, their life can still be one of respect and dignity. Even the indigenous and “wild” people still in this world today pray over the food they have killed to eat. The energy that is behind the food you eat is important. That energy is directed in many different directions and levels. You can always tell when food has been cooked with soul. This also is something that is transferred to the animal before it was eaten by how it was raised.

Astral Life Sanctuary is currently working on our projects that we know will show you what it truly means to be connected to the world we live within. How we feel. How the actual natural environment feels around us. It is so important for people to remember from which we came. The wilderness. The wild. Raw nature. This is why our planet is referred to as mother. So we came, too which we return. Dust to dust. Particle too particle. Atom to atom. Vibration. Energy. How we give that energy to the world we live within matters; and we are here to show people what individuals can do to truly make a difference in the world they live within; for the creatures that live within it. One of our most important purposes for the sanctuary is to teach individuals how to reconnect with nature. Nature is where you find the true self. If you look into spiritual and religious texts, from Christ to Buddha, many of the great souls that came to this world first went back into the wilderness to find the self. Realizing the importance of nature to the soul allows the soul and consciousness to expand on a level that is unlike any other. One of the easiest ways to reconnect to nature and the Earth is to simply take your shoes off and put your feet on the bare ground. This is called grounding; and has been scientifically proven to reduce anxiety and inflammation in the body. Another way to reconnect with nature, and probably the easiest way, is to simply go outside and nature watch. Here at Astral Life Sanctuary, bird watching is one of our favorite activities. One of the best parts of bird watching is the more the birds see you, they become used to you and the closer they will begin to come.

Astral Life Sanctuary also firmly believes in building relationships with animals that people do not really consider friendly or pets. These relationships with these species shows the conscious development between handler and animal. This is why our founder Christian Johnson, is so big on owing reptiles, snakes  specifically, and showing the intelligence they possess. Some snakes actually enjoy being handled by their owners. They want to be held by them and associate with them. This is not a characteristic that most people would even associate with a reptile; especially a snake. Christian’s boa constrictor, Apollo, is a great representation of this. Astral Life Sanctuary has five snakes total: a female Burmese Python, a female Green Anaconda, a male Brazilian Rainbow Boa, and two male Boa Constrictors. All of which have completely different personalities, and all of which like to associate with Christian at different levels of interaction. It is truly remarkable to watch. Here at Astral Life Sanctuary we also have a female Sulcata Tortoise, also known as a female African Spurred Tortoise, and a male Bearded Dragon. Every single reptile here at Astral Life Sanctuary has their own personality.

The mission of Astral Life Sanctuary is to help all species of this planet evolve and thrive next to mankind. That is why we put extreme focus on not only giving back to the environment, but teaching others what they can do to give back as well. Many people think you have to be wealthy or have a large quantity of land to truly make a difference, but that is far from the truth. As mentioned before, even small spaces can be a mini oasis for the world around you. If you live in an apartment and have a balcony, create a small pollinator by having certain flowers in pots of hanging from the balcony railings. You could even have a small garden growing certain vegetables alongside them. If you have an acre of land, you can do even more; it all depends on you and how much effort you want to put into it. Every creature on this planet has a purpose, from the bees, to the whales, to the ones, like snakes, that seem not so pleasant. Every creature was created with purpose by divine creation; and

with that being said, every single one of them deserves our respect and our help to ensure they continue to thrive alongside us. There is a reason that human’s are meant to be the watchers of the creatures of this world. The bible has caused many to go searching for the garden, and completely ignore the fact that here we are, still living in the garden. The question we ask is, how much effort are you willing to put into your piece of the garden to truly see it thrive again? As we move forward with our sanctuary and posting more blogs, we at Astral Life Sanctuary hope that we can not only educate you on the beauty of the world and creatures in it, but also inspire you to start doing the same.
